Currently residing in Cincinnati, Glen Horton has served as the Technology Coordinator for the organization since 1999. His duties require him to have experience in a wide range of technologies. He is responsible for providing technology assistance, technology training, and facilitating shared projects within the SWON Libraries membership.
Before coming to SWON Libraries, Glen spent seven years in the Library Computing Services Department at Wright State University. In addition to managing the libraries' 200+ PC's, he assisted in administering the libraries' web, file, and card catalog servers. Glen received his B.S. in Computer Science from Wright State University.

Glen has made over 150 presentations on technology and its use in all types of libraries. In addition to training staff in member libraries, he has presented at the national Computers in Libraries Conference, Kentucky Association of Independent Schools, Kentucky Library Association, Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, OHIONET, Ohio Library Council, Ohio Health Sciences Library Association, Ohio Educational Library Media Association, Regional Library Systems of Ohio, Miami Valley Libraries, American Society for Information Science, Southern Ohio Chapter, Academic Library Association of Ohio, State-Assisted Academic Library Council of Kentucky, Medical Library Association, Midwest Chapter, Special Libraries Association, Cincinnati Chapter, Special Libraries Association, Kentucky Chapter, and the Western New York Library Resources Council
Topics that Glen has presented include web development, wireless networking, PC security & troubleshooting, open source software, gadgets and mobile devices, digital rights management, social software (blogs, wikis, RSS, etc.) and general technology trends.
