SouthWest Ohio and Neighboring Libraries is a cooperative of area libraries organized to promote library services among and through member institutions. SWON Libraries consists of academic, public, school and special libraries in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. (see What is SWON Libraries? and SWON Libraries' Mission).
All libraries of any type (academic, public, school, special) within the 17 county service area in Ohio (Adams, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Hamilton, Highland, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren) are considered basic members of SWON Libraries.
Basic Members and Kentucky libraries may elect to pay dues to become Contributing Members and thus be entitled to reduced rates on programs as well as additional services. For membership information, contact Anne Abate, Executive Director.
If you are interested in joining or supporting SWON Libraries at the individual level, you may wish to become a Friend of SWON Libraries. Even if your library is already a contributing member, a membership in the Friends shows your peronal support for quality library service in our area. If you are outside of our service area, membership in the Friends allows you to receive some of the benefits such as reduced rates on continuing education. If you are interested in finding out more about Friends membership, please contact Anne Abate, Executive Director.
