Conference will be all day (8 a.m. - 7 p.m.) on September 25th and most of the day (8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) on September 26th. Please plan your travel based on that. Overnight accomodations on September 24th and 25th are included in registration price.

Due to the overwhelming success of the first Moving Mountains Symposium in 2006 we are coming together again this year to discuss the physical delivery of library materials. Join us and find out what is happening with delivery systems throughout the country.
Some of the topics that we will explore include:
- Trends in courier services
- Best practices of existing courier systems
- Funding the service
- Rural delivery
- How to start a courier service
- Understanding contracts
- Training staff to negotiate courier services
- Marketing your service
Keynote speaker will be David Millikin, Product Manager for Library Logistics with OCLC. Mr. Millikin is an expert on the supply chain industry, libraries, collection management, and logistics partner relationships. He infuses his knowledge of the general business environment into the business of libraries. In his address, Mr. Millikin will provide facts and figures about the supply chain industry, describe how the two worlds of logistics and libraries seem to be colliding dramatically and quickly, and illustrate how libraries should keep attention and resources focused in the coming years, while doing business in the new environment. Some topics that will be included are fleet management, courier management, bill payment processes, cooperative collection management, the library supply chain, and upcoming supply chain game-changers like digitization and print on demand.

There will be vendor exhibits on September 25th only. If your delivery vendor or delivery supplies vendor would be interested in participating, please contact the SWON Libraries office.
The Cincinnati Airport Marriott is one mile from the terminals of the Greater Cincinnati Airport. A free hotel shuttle will be available. You will not need to rent a car.
You will be registered for hotel rooms on Wednesday, September 24th and Thursday, September 25th. If your travel plans require additional or different nights, please contact the SWON Libraries office to make arrangements.
All meals during the event are included.
