New Horizons Classes

SWON Libraries has partnered with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers to provide discounted training to libraries in the SWON Libraries Region. Training with New Horizons can be purchased at the discounted rate of $175 per day.

Libraries must register for classes via the SWON Libraries office to obtain the discount (see below).

About New Horizons

New Horizons offers training in desktop applications including products from Microsoft, Adobe, and Corel. They also offer technical training and certifications from Microsoft, Novell, Citrix, Cisco, and Linux. In addition to computer topics, New Horizons offers training is business skills such as accounting, interviewing, and time management.

After completing a class with New Horizons, attendees may retake any regularly scheduled class any time up to six months later at no additional cost. Attendees also have access to an online, self-paced version of the training for up to six months after they attend a class.

Training Locations

Libraries may attend New Horizons classes at the facilities in Cincinnati, Dayton, Fort Mitchell, and Louisville. The Cincinnati facility is located less than a mile east of the SWON Libraries office. See the New Horizons list of learning centers for detailed locations and directions.

Courses Offered

New Horizons offers an online course schedule that can be used to search and browse available courses (discount only applies to applications training). Course outlines can also be viewed prior to registering for a course.

Registering for Courses

One-day courses cost $175. Courses that span several days will cost $175 per day.

Course registrations can be made by contacting Glen Horton at SWON Libraries. Be sure to have the attendee's name, institution, date and title of the class(es) ready. A registration confirmation can be provided via fax or email. Registration fees can be paid by check or credit card.

Approximately five days prior to the class date, attendees will be contacted by New Horizons to confirm attendance. Attendees are asked to arrive at the New Horizons facility 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the class.

If a registration needs to be canceled, it must be done more than five business days before the class date to avoid being charged.
