Hi Greg
This is peripheral to the question you asked. Are you talking about shippi=
ng material directly to patrons via courier or between libraries or library=
systems?

Subject: [Moving Mountains] Transporting Library Materials in Bags
=
Hi,
I have been in contact with a small group of libraries in NH that is =
considering expanding delivery services. I am showing them how we do it =
in Northeast Mass. Libraries ship unsorted totes to the courier who =
sorts and delivers. As you can imagine, the courier company's =
responsibility for sorting can be problematic at times.
I thought this group of 10-15 libraries should look into a system in =
which libraries presort materials into mailbag like bags and hire a =
courier to pickup and deliver to avoid the major sorting issues. Do any =
of you use a system like this? Would you be willing to discuss your =
procedures/issues with these folks?
If you have another system that works for small groups, please let me know.
Thanks,
Greg
