Regional Library Systems of Ohio

All library staff at SWON Libraries member institutions can receive member rates for continuing education events at the other regional library systems in Ohio:

State Library of Ohio

The State Library provides online workshops covering basic skills in using the Ohio Web Library databases. Visit the 30 Minute eClassroom site for the schedule and registration.

INCOLSA

SWON Libraries members may attend INCOLSA continuing education workshops at member rates. Registration for these events should be completed on the INCOLSA site. SWON Libraries members should register as non-members, but indicate their membership affiliation in the comments box on the online registration form. All billing will be handled by INCOLSA. Check the INCOLSA site for their current offerings.

Special Libraries Association, Cincinnati Chapter

SWON Libraries has partnered with the Cincinnati Chapter of the Special Libraries Association to offer the "ClickU Live" series of interactive WebEX programs. These web conferences are offered throughout the year at a rate of $20 for SWON Libraries members or SLA members and $30 for non-members. Topics are wide-ranging and cover issues such as web searching, taxonomies, patents and trademarks, archiving, digitization, and institutional data respositories. Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County

SWON Libraries has partnered with the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County to offer SWON Libraries members and non-members a chance to attend the "Library Academy" workshops at a discounted rate. Members can attend these in-person workshops for $25, non-members for $50. Topics include interviewing techniques, succeeding in the workplace, working with and serving a diverse population, and conflict resolution. Check the SWON Libraries schedule for these sessions.

Boone County Public Library

SWON Libraries has partnered with the Boone County Public Library to offer SWON Libraries members and non-members a chance to attend their workshops at a discounted rate. Members can attend these in-person workshops for $20 or $25, non-members for $40 or $50. Topics include Microsoft Office Applications, Reference Topics, Reader Advisory Classes, and Programming Classes. Check the SWON Libraries schedule for these sessions.

SAALCK

Through a cooperative arrangement, SWON Libraries members may attend workshops sponsored by SAALCK (State-Assisted Academic Library Council of Kentucky) at member rates. These workshops will be announced to SWON Libraries members and will be listed on the SWON Libraries site.
