The four Ohio Regional Library Systems offer discounts from leading library vendors directly to their members. SWON Libraries members are encouraged to take advantage of this system. More than 20 vendors offer discounts to Regional Library System members, including the large library suppliers (Brodart, Demco, Gaylord and Highsmith). Please contact the SWON Libraries Office is you would like us to attempt to negotiate with specific additional vendors.

SWON Libraries members are eligible for an incremental discount on products from Discovery Education. The more you order, the larger the discount.
SWON Libraries members are eligible for a significant discount on Playaway orders. The large discount includes Playaway titles and accessories. A free display stand is also provided to SWON Libraries members.
SWON Libraries has negotiated a discount with 3M Corporation that applies to all equipment and supplies for RFID systems. (This offer does not apply to Tattle Tape Security products.)
Movie Licensing USA currently provides a 10% discount to SWON Libraries School library members. If additional schools want to be added to the list, the discount could increase.
SWON Libraries members receive a significant discount on the ACLS Humanities E-Book product. This electronic resource includes 1700 full-text, cross-searchable books in the humanities selected for their continuing importance to students and scholars. Contact the SWON Libraries office for more details on this discount.
SWON Libraries members receive a significant discount on database products from OVID Technologies. There are packages for hospitals and medical schools, as well as smaller groupings for nursing schools and academic libraries without medical schools.
SWON Libraries members receive a 20% Discount and Free Shipping on individual title orders from Thorndike. This discount does not apply to sale items or any item that has more than a 20% discount. In order to take advantage of this offer, use promo L2790. The Imprints covered under this discount include Thorndike Press, Wheeler Publishing, Walker Large Print and Five Star regular print. SWON Libraries members are also eligible for a 25% discount and free shipping on most of their standing order plans.
SWON Libraries members are eligible for a discount with WT Cox Subscriptions. School districts will receive a 15% discount. Public libraries will receive a 6% discount. Academic and special libraries will be provided with serial management services at the modest service fee of up to 4%. More than a dozen SWON Libraries members participate in a shared collection of NetLibrary online titles. This offer is only open to new libraries during the renewal window. Contact the SWON Libraries Office is you are interested in participating in the next purchase or in other NetLibrary product offerings.
SWON Libraries members receive a 10% discount on PBS Video orders. You can place your order directly through the local rep (Gene Christopher). Just mention that you are a SWON Libraries member and the discount will apply. If anyone is contemplating a larger purchase ($1000 or more), please inform the SWON Libraries office. The discount will actually go up incrementally if orders are pooled. We could get as much as 25% off with an order over $5000!

Tantor offers a generous 40% discount and free shipping for SWON Libraries members. Standing Order Plans are also available with a discount of 43%, with the introductory order of the Standing Order Plan at a 50% discount.
Value Line offers SWON Libraries members a 15% discount on their online products. Compendium Library Services offers a product called Reference Desk Tracker, a hosted service that provides customizable data entry forms and graphical reporting for central tracking of activity at public service points. The group discount rates are based on the number of participating libraries.

Ohio public libraries are eligible for the Microsoft software discount program called "RLS/MCOECN Microsoft Select". The agreement provides discounts of up to 80% on Microsoft and other software to qualified public libraries in Ohio. From time to time, SWON Libraries receives offers from specific publishers regarding special products. These have included the ProQuest: Ancestry Library Edition & Heritage Quest, Leadership Directories, Marquis Who's Who Publishing & National Register Publishing, JSTOR/ArtStor, McGraw-Hill, and others. We will advertise these offers to the Directors of SWON Libraries members as they become available. Members are encouraged to provide suggestions for additional offers to pursue.
