SWON Libraries Office
Currently residing in Cincinnati, Glen Horton has served as the Technology Coordinator for the SWON Libraries organization since 1999. His duties require him to have experience in a wide range of technologies. He is responsible for providing technology assistance, technology training, and facilitating shared projects within the SWON Libraries membership.
Before coming to SWON Libraries, Glen spent seven years in the Library Computing Services Department at Wright State University. In addition to managing the libraries' 200+ PC's, he assisted in administering the libraries' web, file, and card catalog servers. Glen received his B.S. in Computer Science from Wright State University.
Libraries are increasingly dependent on technology to deliver user services. Glen will lead a discussion of recent and emerging trends in technology and how libraries will be affected by those trends. You will learn about recent developments as wells as what to watch for in the coming year. Discussion will focus on trends relating to desktop/mobile computing, storage, software, networking, and the Internet.
