Gayle Ecabert
Director and Education Coordinator
Originally graduating college with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Gayle taught middle school Social Studies for several years at the start of her career. Eventually, she made the decision to attend University of Cincinnati School of Law, received her JD, and thereafter practised business law for a number of years. She left the law field and ran two successful small family businesses for years until she attended Kent State University for her MLIS and became Director of Library Services at Beckfield College in Florence, KY in 2015. Gayle served as Director at Beckfield for four years and now serves as the Director at SWON.
Chas Smith
Education and Technology Coordinator
Chas is a Northern Kentucky native that has worked in STEM education for over 10 years. Chas attended Eastern Kentucky University and received a bachelor's in middle school eductaion with certifications in both science and social science. After a short career as a middle school teacher, Chas started working in youth services at Kenton County Public Library as a children's programmer with a focus on STEM. He is now excited about his current position as the Education and Technology Coordinator.
Morgan Coleman
Outreach and Education Coordinator
After getting a Bachelor or Fine Arts in Theatre, a Bachelors in English, and a Masters of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing, Morgan got what she thought would be a temporary job at the library, but instead found a new passion. She became a Children’s Programmer, primarily focusing on Storytime, as well as assisting in the Maker Space. Currently, in addition to her role as the Outreach and Education Coordinator for SWON, she teaches weekly classes at Covington Classical Academy and Baker Hunt.
